Terra X – Expedition Anden
The Andes are the longest mountain range in the world. Characterised by plateaus, canyons, rugged mountains, deserts and glaciers, the diverse landscapes of the mountains grow day by day and are subject to constant change. What forces are responsible for this? Geologist Colin Devey embarks on a journey along the Andes in the two-part ‘Terra X’ documentary. In the first episode, he explores the forces of the Earth’s interior – because the Andes are more geologically active than almost any other mountain range – and in the second episode, he addresses the question of how wind, ice and water shape the longest mountain range on Earth.
